Last weekend, August 2nd – 4th, Derwent & the Pencil Museum attended Carfest North at Oulton Park.
‘We had a great weekend’ said Emma Chapman Derwent’s Marketing Communications Manager, ‘‘we held workshops, ran free activities for everyone & raised £500 for Children in Need by auctioning off our giant 6 foot pencil. We asked the visitors to our stand to help create Chris Evans’ face from Derwent Pencils and on the last day we unveiled the portrait which took around 3,000 pencils to make.
We also took along the old Cumberland Pencil Company delivery van, a 1954 Morris J type, which usually sits outside the Pencil Museum in Keswick and we asked people to guess how many pencils could fit inside. The winner received a box of Derwent Artists Pencils.
The sun shone, we were busy the whole weekend and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!’
