I am a working artist, tutor and demonstrator living close to the River Waveney on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. Observational drawing is at the root of all my work and I regularly paint and draw outdoors in the landscape. I have demonstrated and lead workshops at The Pencil Museum and for art societies all over the UK. I demonstrated Derwent Procolour pencils at the UK launch at Patchings Art Festival. I am a Silver Signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society and a member of several other art groups in East Anglia. I open my studio annually as part of the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail. My double DVD "Yes You Can Draw", produced by Teaching Art Ltd/SAA, has enjoyed wide sales since its launch in 2013. I have written many magazine articles about drawing in general and coloured pencils in particular. I recently produced several double page spreads on coloured pencil techniques for the Dorling Kindersley book "Artists Drawing Techniques - which is distributed across the world in many languages. I organise two life drawing groups and regularly join other painters for plein air sessions throughout the year (when I often work in oils). I am never happier than when I have a pencil in my hand. "There is no better way to understand the world than through the point of a pencil".
